THE SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR
“A social entrepreneur, builds strong and sustainable organizations, which are either set up as not-for-profits or companies. They focus primarily on the social and/or ecological value creation and try to optimize the financial value creation. Social entrepreneurs innovate by finding a new product/service/approach to a social problem.”
I am very passionate about the projects that I engage in as a social entrepreneur. Sustainable development is very important to me especially in the arts industry or women’s issues. I work a lot with the youth to nurture their talent and induct them into their respective industry. As a publicist, I have found a way to monitise my passion for the entertainment sector. With Girl Grandeur Zimbabwe, we address the issues that women are facing using unorthodox strategies and we strive to find ways to generate income so as to keep the organisation afloat.

“A publicist generates and manages publicity for a public figure, especially a celebrity, a business, or for a work such as a book, film or album. Publicists generate press coverage on behalf of clients and to serve as the bridge between clients, their public and media outlets. A publicist manages campaigns and performs other public relations functions.”
I derive great satisfaction from seeing other people do well. As a publicist, I get to be the scaffolding that props us society’s public figures. I admire all my clients because they are not only talented, but because they are pursuing things that I never would have delved into. Those who can’t, become publicists. My degree in Journalism and Media studies, my extensive network across various industries and my passion for the job all qualify me to be the efficient publicist that I am today.

”Copywriting is writing text for the purpose of advertising or other forms of marketing. Copywriters help create billboards, brochures, catalogs, jingle lyrics, magazine and newspaper advertisements, sales letters and other direct mail, scripts for television or radio commercials, taglines, social media posts, and other marketing communications.”
Nothing gives me a rush like being a copywriter. The clients are never the same and neither are their projects. Each one of them provides a unique challenge and that pushes me to grow and constantly improve. Owning an advertising agency is a dream of mine and everyday I am laying a brick at a time towards that vision. Being a copywriter and conceptualizer allows me to interweave my love for the performing, visual and literary arts to create the media products that the client requires. I like to be involved in campaigns from conception to completion because there’s always something new to learn.
