“You are mine!” – Jesus

I’d always thought I was a Christian. I mean… I wasn’t dabbling in weird things. I knew about them, I was distracted by them, but I always came back to serving God. I had seasons. In and out. Confused by fads coming and going. It wasn’t until last year that my walk with God REALLY took. It really stuck. And I have changed in ways I didn’t imagine I could. Do you know what was the hardest part was? No, not fasting. The hardest part was people reminding you of whom you used to be.

Thanks for the reminder, I was there. I remember.

Also, FYI, it wasn’t a sudden change. It was gradual.

For some reason, the appetite for some things just died. I would put on some shows, and I started seeing them in a different light. Some would even cause a physical reaction within me. There’s a series I watched 3 seasons of, it came back for season 4, but things had changed. I put on the first episode of season 4, and I felt discomfort in my tummy. I pushed through and finished the episode, but I felt so sick to the stomach. Instant conviction, instant regret. I didn’t realise it, but I had become too sensitive to the things of the world. My husband and I just stopped drinking. There was no discussion about it, we each stopped drinking for no reason at all. It’s been over 2 years now without a drop of alcohol.

We’re in a season where God seems to be taking His people on a journey. And the children of Satan are trying to drag us back into the world. In this season, there is no middle ground, it’s either you are born again or born against. There is no room to be lukewarm.

I had to start a new TikTok account because the previous one was filled with people who knew me a certain way, and they were struggling to reconcile that with this new me. I get a message every week from different people about how I’m all “Godly” all of a sudden. Manje I’ve always been this person. I’ve always been set apart, and I have always been gifted. I have always known that God has called me for something greater, and no one is more grateful than me that His gifts are without recalling because the way I was moving, he would have surely taken away all my gifts, but He didn’t. This has also taught me that God means it when He says nothing we could ever do can separate us from His love for us. Despite all the things that I did, He never discarded me.

I saw the TikTok video responding to Shadaya’s tweets about women who turn to Christ after being in the streets. I was initially offended, but the truth is, the people whom God has preordained for such a time as this all faced trials and tribulations early on in life. Their childhood was a whole smear campaign so that when they came into their purpose, people would discredit them and only remember them for their former mistakes. So imagine, after that man was delivered from Legion, how the people must have been to him. Constantly reminding him of the things he would do to them and the self-harm he did to himself. I wonder what the actual accuser of the brethren spends the day doing, since we are always condemning each other and accusing one another.

If you see someone changing for the better, don’t let the devil use you. Focus on your own life and just be happy for them.

If you were Saul’s mate, and you met him when he returned as Paul after the road to Damascus, what would you have said to him? How would you have treated him?
